ITF-14 barcodes are 14-digit barcodes that go on the outer shipping cartons or delivery boxes that contain your retail products. Each shipping carton should contain a set number of your retail products (e.g. 24 cans of baked beans). ITF-14 barcodes are sometimes called Shipping Container Codes (SCC-14), Carton Codes, or GTIN-14 barcodes. Your retailer will scan the ITF-14 barcode on each shipping carton when it comes into their warehouse. The ITF-14 barcode will tell them how many units of your product are contained in each shipping carton (e.g. 24 cans of baked beans). This information will then be recorded in their inventory management or logistics system so that they can keep track of what stock is in their warehouse.cartons The ITF-14 barcodes are usually created from the barcode number which is on the retail product within the box (the EAN-13 or UPC number). Up to 10 different ITF-14 barcodes can be created from one EAN-13 or UPC number.

If you need ITF-14 Barcodes, please order them below. Please enter your EAN-13 or UPC-A barcode numbers into the “enter your barcode number(s) here” box below before checking out (we will use these numbers to create your ITF-14 barcode images). Once we receive your order, we will manually create the ITF-14 barcode for you, and email it to you. This will normally take 2-24 hours, depending on the time of day/week that you make the order. Our normal office hours are 7am-7pm Mon-Fri (NZ time), plus we process some orders on Saturday whenever possible.

  • Barcode Artwork Test

We have a new service where we can test your barcode artwork, to give you an idea of whether it will scan well.

This is not an official Barcode Verification Report (which costs $59) as required by some Supermarket and Hardware chains. But is is a test using the same equipment and giving the same information.

This test will be done on your artwork – so you can have more confidence about the quality of the barcode before you go to print – or it will tell you what problems there are with the barcode artwork.

To do this test, please purchase the quantity you require ($20 each), and then email a pdf of the barcode artwork to us. The pdf must be A4 or smaller in size, and 100%. We will print it on a laser printer in B&W (so it won’t test any other print colours) and test it, then email the report to you.

You can view some sample reports below. Grades vary from A (excellent) to C (OK) to D & below which are fails.

    Test Pass A grade

    Test Fail Decodability
